The Advanced History Filter (AHF) tool is more dynamic than the Basic History Filter tool. It is designed to search and filter very specific data. It also allows you to search and view data from multiple devices at a time. The tool will search specific days, vehicle speeds, stops, provide immediate past histories and display multiple Device histories at one time.
Common Uses for AHP:
Using AHP can help you answer the following questions:
- Where does the Device sleep?
- Where does the Device frequently go?
- Where do multiple Devices go that are on the same Operation?
- Have these Devices ever been to a particular place or location?
- When did they travel outside their normal home areas?
- Is there a pattern to their travel habits?
Note: The Advanced History Filter returns up to 25,000 records at a time. It will also run an arbitrary number of data sources at one time.
To use the Advance History Analysis Tool you must first determine how you want your tracking data filtered to get the results you need. Follow these steps to select your Device (s) and Filter types.
10.2.1 Selecting Filters
- Open the Menu > Views > Reports > Advanced History Filter.
- Select the Operation your Device is attached to in the Filter box. (If the Device is not attached to an Operation or you do not know the name of the Operation, select None.)
Note: The Operations Filter below only filters Devices on this form. Its purpose is to help you locate your target Device (using the Operation) if you have a large number of Devices to search. Only the Device and Date range have impact on the results. The selection of an Operation has no impact on the results.
- Scroll down the Devices list and select up to five Devices whose histories you want to review during a specific period.
Select Dates and Times for the Search:
- Scroll down and click in the text box for Start Date/Time. (A calendar and clock open.)
- Select a search Start Date on the Calendar.
Note: The ‘bold’ numbers on the Calendar mean the Device was active that day.
- Click and drag the sliders on the Clock to select a Start Time for the search.
- Click DONE.
- Click in the End Date/Time text box.
- Select the desired End Date on the Calendar.
- Click and drag the sliders on the Clock to select an End Time for the search.

10.2.2 Playing Back AHF Reports
The following are tools in the AHF playback window you can use to display your search results.
- Report List --- Displays each Report received. Scroll to the right to see more information on each report displayed.
- Playback Map --- This is where each Device report is displayed in the order it was received. Scroll right to see to Device Speeds, Altitudes, Longitudes, Postal Code and Locations.
- Playback Controls --- Allows you to play all Device reports from beginning to end of the search period or stop, and then zoom into the map for finer detail.
- Playback Speed Control --- Sets the amount of time it takes to playback the full report. Slower speeds help show information along the reporting path of the Device.
- Playback Time Line --- Provides a supporting graph of what happened during the Devices travel route. Red circles indicate the Device was stopped. Green circles indicate the Device was moving.
- Playback Selective Reports --- User can Select Multiple Reports for Playback from the available list of Total Reports by holding the Ctrl Key and Clicking on the chosen reports on the Grid.
To play back your search results, click the Play button on the Playback Controls. The report should playback one report at a time in a time-controlled pattern to show the entire track of the Device.
To speed up or slow down the Playback rate, move the Playback Speed Control to the left or right as needed.

one time. It also displays the tracks of out-of- service Devices and active Devices at the same time if both were operational during the searched period.
Note: It is recommended that you change the icons and Colours of the Devices being tracked to provide greater differentiation on screen from other Devices nearby.
The Bread Crumb Tracking tool tracks the movements of a Device (s) and then quickly presents a series of five time-lapsed reports on-screen.
